The product
A consumer-facing health information platform where editors and clinicians publish reviewed content and patients land via search. The volume is the interesting part — thousands of articles, hundreds of conditions, structured data that has to satisfy both Google's medical content guidelines and a real editorial review board.
What we built
Rails-based publishing platform with a multi-stage editorial workflow (draft → review → clinical sign-off → publish), SEO-aware URL structures, structured data emission for every page type (MedicalCondition, Drug, MedicalProcedure), and an internal authoring experience that didn't require editors to know about schema.org to make it work.
What this case study illustrates
Content-heavy sites and AI-assisted authoring are a natural fit. The editorial workflow we built here is the bones of what we now offer for client orgs that need to produce a steady cadence of public-facing content — grants, programs, policy positions, member spotlights — without the team burning out or the quality slipping.
